Succeed With Dyslexia on Spotify!

Wednesday 25th August 2021

Everyone loves a good tune– from fresh and furious gym vibes to those low-fi playlists perfect for settling down with a latte and a book or six, music is a huge part of how we construe who we are, how we relax, and how we get our kicks. And after a year where we’ve spent most of it keeping our distance to keep the people we care about as safe as possible, it’s likely to have been a huge boost to our mental health too.

So we’ve spent a little of our summer experimenting with everything music has to offer and thinking about how we can use the musical form to further our message that having dyslexia can be amazing. (Sadly, management did put a stop to our idea of a four-hour one-man broadway musical, but we're still hoping for a shot at West End). You can check out our little burst of Wednesday-morning sound right here, and there’s even a hidden message too- it’s so hidden. So very hidden. In fact, you might not even spot it at all, it’s that hidden.

You can also find our official list of red-inspired tunes if like us, you’re already gearing up for our Go Red for Dyslexia campaign this October – from classics by Simply Red that your mum will love to one of our favourite Taylor Swift tracks, it’s perfect for adding a little colour to your commute this Autumn.

Happy listening!

The colour red started making an appearance on landmarks in various global locations after an initial campaign founded in Australia in 2015 called Code Read. The founders were mothers who whose aim was to raise greater awareness of dyslexia and advocated for their children. The fact you’re reading this today is testament to their commitment and success. Many dyslexia campaigners share common goals around equal access to literacy and reading, pushing for:

• dyslexia-aware teachers
• early screening and identification
• appropriate support
